What Is Reiki?
Next month, Sojourn will be hosting Reiki 1 and 2 Level Training with Lizzie Rose. We decided we would dedicate a blog post explaining exactly what Reiki is and what one learns when becoming trained in Reiki.
What is Reiki?
First and foremost, we want to begin by saying that anyone can learn reiki. You don’t need to be psychic or have a certain level of healing experience to become trained. Reiki, simply put, is healing energy. The exchange is performed through the palms of the healer to the client (or person receiving). No physical touch is necessary, but a light one can be used as the Reiki Healer works with the main energetic centers, otherwise known as chakras.
What is Reiki Attunement?
The International Center for Reiki Training defines Reiki Attunement as,
“Reiki is not taught in the way other healing techniques are taught. It is transferred to the student by the Reiki Master during an attunement process. This process opens the crown, heart, and palm chakras and creates a special link between the student and the Reiki source.”
Simply put, the reiki attunement is the a ceremonial transfer of pure healing energy from the master to the student. Once attuned, you are attuned for life, it does not wear off. The ICRT recommends refraining from animal products and stimulants like caffeine, alcohol or sugar to prepare for this so that this exchange of energy is better able to work through you.
Why Should You Get Reiki Trained?
If you’re looking to deepen your spirituality, this is a perfect way to understand the powerful source of energy within us all. If you are an existing healer or practitioner, it’s also a great, complimentary tool to bring to your practice and clients. And most of all, it’s a great way to bring more grounded, loving, and gifted energy to this world. Whether its simply for yourself or to benefit those around you (including your furry friends), learning to perform reiki is a beautiful outlet to create more peace and joy in this world.
If you're interested in being trained in Reiki, sign up for early bird before March 30 and save $50 HERE or if you want to experience our reiki healing services make an appointment with one of our healers HERE.
